Thoughts on the Art Style of the Capcomoron Series

I just saw some Monster Hunter Wilds Items sneak peeks of the art style for the upcoming Capcomoron collection, and I have to say, I’m loving it! The Capcomoron series is going for a really playful, exaggerated art style that fits perfectly with the quirky personalities of Otomo Airou and Secreto from Monster Hunter Wilds.

If you’ve seen their designs, you’ll notice that Otomo Airou has a more rounded, cartoonish look with oversized eyes and a big smile, while Secreto looks even more mischievous than usual, with a bit of a snarky attitude in its pose. I think this new style is a perfect fit for the Capcomoron theme, as it gives these characters a fresh, whimsical look while still staying true to their roots in Monster Hunter.

It’s interesting to see Capcom take this approach to characters who are usually depicted in a more serious tone during hunts, especially Otomo Airou, who often serves as comic relief in the series. The Capcomoron series might be a good way to showcase these beloved characters in a lighthearted, fun way. I’m curious to see what other characters will be added to the series in the future, too!

What do you think of the new art direction? Do you think it MH Wilds Items fits with Otomo Airou and Secreto’s personalities?
